The Diamondbacks and Dodgers played a nail-biter on Sunday, August 30th. The Dodgers took an early lead in the first inning with Nitin Muniappan singling and coming around to score on a groundout by Alec Wilkin. The Diamondbacks responded right away in the top of the second on an RBI single by Matteus Duplessis to score Max Phillips who doubled. They then added three more in the top of the third with Justin Guidara, Matthew Mikula, and Cole Blackburn all singling and coming around to score. George Boksanski pitched well for the D-Backs allowing only one run in 2 and ⅔ innings.

The Dodgers got one run in the fourth with Nitin Muniappan doubling and scoring, but the Diamondbacks got it right back in the top of the fifth with Mike Ficociello singling and scoring on a double by Cole Blackburn to extend the lead to 5-2. The Dodgers scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth with some good baserunning by Brendan Bock and Charlie Ihrig. Rami Flummerfelt got the Diamondbacks to go 1-2-3 in the top of the sixth to give the Dodgers a chance for the walk off. The Dodgers had runners on second and third with two outs in the bottom of the sixth but Will Brown got the clutch strikeout to give the Diamondbacks the W.
